Terry Calvani joins Brunswick as a Senior Advisor in Washington, D.C.

Brunswick Group, the strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues, today announced that Terry Calvani has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor focused on antitrust, competition and regulatory matters, based in the Washington, D.C. office.

Terry has had a distinguished career across law, government and academia. He was, until recently, Of Counsel at Freshfields. He has held leadership roles in competition law enforcement serving first as Commissioner of the US Federal Trade Commission and later as a member of the governing board of the Irish competition authority where he held the criminal cartel and mergers portfolios. Earlier in his career he was a partner at a law firm specializing in antitrust and competition law. He has worked on some of the largest, cross-border transactions and has advised on many civil and criminal investigations across industries.

About Terry Calvani

Terry was, until recently, Of Counsel at Freshfields. He has held leadership roles in competition law enforcement serving first as Commissioner of the US Federal Trade Commission and later as a member of the governing board of the Irish competition authority where he held the criminal cartel and mergers portfolios. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at the Pillsbury firm specializing in antitrust and competition law. He has worked on some of the largest, cross-border transactions and has advised on many civil and criminal investigations across industries. 

Terry is a member of the ABA Antitrust Section leadership, a life member of the American Law Institute and the Judicial Conference of the U.S. (6th Circuit).  He has taught antitrust law at several universities, including Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Harvard and Trinity College, Dublin.

Terry also serves on the advisory boards of the Antitrust Bulletin, the Oxford University Journal of Antitrust Enforcement and the Dublin University Law Journal. He is a non-governmental adviser to the International Competition Network on behalf of the two U.S. antitrust enforcement agencies.  Terry has also consulted with many governments and their competition agencies on antitrust policy and has written and spoken extensively on antitrust issues.
