Brunswick Group bolsters senior team in Germany

Andrea Maibaum and Robert Bischof further strengthen the firm’s senior advisory capability in Germany.

July 16, 2024 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, announces that Andrea Maibaum will join as a Partner in Frankfurt on October 14, 2024, and Robert Bischof will join as a Partner in Munich on November 1, 2024. Andrea and Robert will further bolster the firm’s senior advisory capability in Germany and across Europe, where the team continues to grow and serve clients on a range of their most pressing issues.

Andrea Maibaum has 20 years’ experience in advising global corporates on reputation building, climate issues, sustainability and advocacy. She joins from FGS Global, where she was a Managing Director and led the firm’s European ESG team. Previously, she worked at Portland in Brussels and London, advising international companies with a focus on European energy, climate, competition and transport policy. At Brunswick, Andrea will advise German and European clients on their climate strategies, strengthen Brunswick’s ESG & Sustainable Business team in Germany and join Brunswick’s global Climate Hub, a team of climate experts in London, Washington D.C., New York and Hong Kong.

Robert Bischof is a seasoned advisor with a strong track record of counselling clients at the most senior level across sectors and issue areas. Previously, Robert was a Senior Partner and European Practice Group Leader at PwC Strategy&, where he advised clients on strategy, growth and ESG. Previously, he was Managing Director of the Max Planck Foundation and, earlier in his career, spent eight years at Bain & Company focused on strategy development and digitalization. At Brunswick, Robert will counsel German and international clients on a broad set of financial and corporate matters.

About Andrea Maibaum

Most recently, Andrea spent 12 years at FGS Global, latterly as a Managing Director in the firm’s Frankfurt office and head of the European ESG team. At FGS, Andrea advised companies on all aspects of integrated strategic communications helping them to engage with the full stakeholder universe and win support for their transformation. Prior to that, Andrea worked at advisory firm Portland in Brussels and London, where she led multinational communication campaigns for clients in the fields of European energy, transport and competition policy.

Andrea is a fully qualified lawyer and earned a Master of Science in European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

About Robert Bischof

Robert was a Senior Partner and European Practice Group Leader at PwC Strategy&, where he helped clients think through the strategic opportunities and challenges related to a changing business landscape, including ESG issues. Prior to this role, Robert was the Managing Director of the Max Planck Foundation, where he redefined the Foundation’s endowment approach and grew its capital stock to more than €500 million. Before that, Robert worked at Bain & Company for eight years, focusing on strategy development and digitalization projects for banking and wealth management clients. He started his career as an associate to the Chief Financial Officer of Siemens AG.

Robert earned a double bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Yale University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Imadec in cooperation with the McCombs School of Business.
