Tanisha Carino joins Brunswick Group as a Partner

Brunswick enhances its global Healthcare and Life Sciences capabilities.

June 23, 2022 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Tanisha Carino will join as a Partner in Washington, D.C. on June 27, 2022.

Tanisha is a senior corporate affairs and health policy expert with more than 20 years of experience providing strategic counsel in business strategy, government affairs and stakeholder management across the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as a Visiting Fellow in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, focused on pandemic preparedness. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Before that, she was Executive Director of FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, Vice President of U.S. Public Policy at GlaxoSmithKline and Head of Life Sciences Strategic Advisory Services for Avalere Health.  She began her career as an HIV case worker in Atlanta.

At Brunswick, Tanisha will further strengthen the firm’s Healthcare and Life Sciences capabilities and health policy expertise, bringing her deep experience of the sector to bear for clients globally.

About Tanisha Carino

Most recently, Tanisha served as a Visiting Fellow in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, focused on pandemic preparedness. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, a Fortune 500 biotechnology company focused on rare disease. There, she was responsible for corporate affairs activities, including leadership of U.S. and global government affairs and policy, alliance development and global communications. She also led communications through the company’s acquisition by AstraZeneca. Before that, she served as Executive Director of FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, working with global government, philanthropic and business leaders to accelerate patient treatments.

Prior to that, Tanisha led U.S. public policy at GlaxoSmithKline and was Head of Life Sciences Strategic Advisory Services for Avalere Health.  She began her career as an HIV case worker in Atlanta and a policy researcher in the government’s Medicare program.

Tanisha is a Fulbright Fellow, Associate Faculty at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and serves on the Board of Directors of Silk Road Medical and One Mind. She is the Vice-Chair of the Alliance for Health Policy. She received a Ph.D. in Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Sociology from Emory University.
