Michael Wedell to join Brunswick Group as a Partner in Berlin

Brunswick Group, the strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues, today announced that Michael Wedell has joined as a Partner in Brunswick’s Berlin office.

Michael has significant experience across sectors in corporate communications, media relations and public and regulatory affairs. He joins Brunswick from the large retailer METRO AG, where he was Senior Vice President and led the corporate communications and public policy departments. 

Prior to his time at METRO AG, he was Director of Corporate Affairs at Dresdner Bank and, before that, Head of Public Affairs and Government Relations for Vodafone Germany. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Press and Public Relations for the TV production company of TV21/SABINE CHRISTIANSEN and previously worked as a senior advisor to the Green parliamentary group in the German Bundestag.

About Michael Wedell

Michael Wedell was, until recently, Senior Vice President for the wholesaler METRO AG. Since 2009, he has held several positions at the company including Global Director of Corporate Communications and Public Policy, Global Director of Public Policy and External Relations and Director of Public Policy for Germany and the EU. Prior to his time at METRO AG, he was Director of Corporate Affairs at Dresdner Bank AG and, before that, Head of Public Affairs and Government Relations for Vodafone Germany. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Press and Public Relations for the TV production company of TV21/SABINE CHRISTIANSEN, before that, he was a senior advisor to the Green parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag. He is a graduate of the Free University of Berlin. In addition, he has trained as a coach and supervisor and has been active in this field for 20 years.

He is an elected member of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK), a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Catholic Academy in Berlin, a consultant to Commission VI of the German Bishops’ Conference and Member of the Board of Trustees "shoulder to shoulder" of the 1. FC UNION Berlin.
