Mark Patterson joins Brunswick Group as a Senior Advisor in Washington, D.C.

Veteran policy expert further strengthens Brunswick’s U.S. Public Affairs practice group

Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Mark A. Patterson has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor in the Washington, D.C. office.   

Mark is a lawyer and longtime U.S. Senate aide, Treasury Department official and policy expert with extensive experience in fiscal, tax, legal, financial services and other issues. Most recently, he was General Counsel to Senator Charles E. Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader. He previously served as Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Treasury during the first term of the Obama presidency. Earlier in his career, Mark was Policy Director to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, Minority Staff Director and Chief Counsel of the Senate Finance Committee and Legislative Director to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.

Most recently, Mark served as General Counsel to Charles E. Schumer, Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. He previously spent four years as a Partner at Perkins Coie LLP. Before that, he was Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Treasury during the first term of the Obama presidency. Previously, Mark was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career, he served as Policy Director to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, as Minority Staff Director and Chief Counsel of the Senate Finance Committee and as Legislative Director to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.
