Maria Gianoutsos joins Brunswick Group as Global Managing Partner, People

Brunswick Group, the strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues, today announced that Maria Gianoutsos will join as Global Managing Partner, People on March 1, 2021 based in New York. Maria will lead the firm’s People function, with global responsibility for recruitment, talent development and human resources.

Maria is a deeply experienced executive who specializes in human capital and its power to increase the value of a brand, establish a differentiated positioning and ensure commercial success. She has spent the last 20 years in senior talent roles and has worked throughout her career counselling leaders in the marketing, advertising and creative spheres. 

Maria joins Brunswick from The Counsel Co, where she is founder and Chief Executive Officer, partnering with senior executives to develop people and enable organizations to realize the value of a fully invested leadership team. Previously, Maria was Global Chief Creative Talent Officer at J. Walter Thompson, where she worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop the firm’s talent.

Maria is a deeply experienced executive who specializes in human capital and its power to increase the value of a brand, establish a differentiated positioning and ensure commercial success. Most recently, Maria founded and is Chief Executive Officer of The Counsel Co, an independent consultancy that partners with senior executives to develop people, allowing organizations to realize the value of a fully invested leadership team. 

Previously, Maria was Global Chief Creative Talent Officer at J. Walter Thompson, where she spent three years working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to identify leaders globally who could help to redefine what creativity meant, and how its magic can be applied to commerce. Before that, she was Managing Director of North America and a Member of the Global Operating Board at The Talent Business and an Executive Recruiter at ML Search. Earlier in her career, Maria held planning, creative and leadership roles at various advertising agencies including Ogilvy, Weiss Whitten Stagliano, Ammirati Puris Lintas and J. Walter Thompson.
