Li Hua joins Brunswick Group as a Partner in Beijing

Brunswick strengthens its M&A, antitrust and public affairs capabilities with the appointment of Li Hua.

Brunswick Group, the strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues, today announced that Li Hua will join as a Partner on April 1, 2021 in the Beijing office, focused on M&A, antitrust and public affairs.

Hua joins Brunswick from Squire Patton Boggs, where she was a Partner in the Global Corporate Practice in Beijing. There, she focused on foreign investment law, M&A, commercial law, competition and antitrust law and outbound investments. Prior to that she was a Partner at Gide Loyrette Nouel. She began her career with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (now Ministry of Commerce) in Beijing before becoming Vice-Director of Foreign Trade at the former State Commission for Economy and Trade (SETC).

About Li Hua

Most recently, Hua was a Partner in Squire Patton Boggs’s Global Corporate Practice in Beijing, where she focused on foreign investment law, M&A, commercial law, competition and antitrust law and outbound investments. Prior to this she was a Partner with Gide Loyrette Nouel. She has also held various government-based roles, working at the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (now Ministry of Commerce) in Beijing before becoming Vice-Director of Foreign Trade at the former State Commission for Economy and Trade (SETC).

Hua has a deep knowledge of Chinese legal frameworks and government relations. She is a specialist in anti-monopoly law and an arbitrator of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). Her clients have included multinational corporations, state-owned enterprises and private companies. Hua is listed as one of the leading Competition and Antitrust lawyers in China by Chambers Asia and as one of the leading WTO / International Trade Lawyers by Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
