Brunswick strengthens its Board of Directors with the appointment of Geraldine Buckingham as a Non-Executive Director.
October 17, 2022 - Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Geraldine Buckingham will join the firm’s Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director, effective November 1, 2022.
Geraldine will work closely with the firm’s leadership team and joins Non-Executive Director, San Orr, President at BDT & Company. She brings a wealth of experience in the professional services industry as well as being deeply attuned to the issues facing modern, global business leaders.
Geraldine is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of HSBC and her most recent executive position was as Chair and Head of Asia Pacific at BlackRock, before serving as Senior Advisor to Larry Fink, BlackRock Chairman and CEO. Prior to BlackRock, Geraldine was a Partner in McKinsey & Company’s financial services practice.

About Geraldine Buckingham
Geraldine was appointed to the Board of HSBC Holdings in May 2022 as an Independent Non-Executive Director and currently serves on Group Risk, Group Remuneration, Nomination & Corporate Governance Committees. Her most recent executive role was as Chair and Head of Asia Pacific at BlackRock, where she was responsible for all business activities across Hong Kong and mainland China, Japan, Australia, Singapore, India and Korea.
After stepping down, she acted as Senior Advisor to Larry Fink, BlackRock Chairman and CEO, and has previously served as Global Head of Corporate Strategy. Before joining BlackRock, Geraldine was a Partner with McKinsey & Company’s financial services practice based in New York.
Geraldine is a member of the Advisory Board of ClimateWorks Australia, a non-profit organization that develops independent, evidence-based solutions to assist the transition to net zero emissions across Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
Geraldine earned her Master of Philosophy in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar and a Bachelor’s in medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Monash University.
