Brunswick Group, a leading corporate communications partnership, announced today that Ed Gillespie has returned to the firm as senior counselor.
In this role, Mr. Gillespie will contribute to the development of the firm’s corporate reputation, crisis and public affairs practices, while also providing counsel on key issues such as digital communications campaign strategies and corporate data and security.
Mr. Gillespie has extensive experience spanning communications, business, government and politics including positions as Republican Party chairman, counselor to President George W. Bush and founder of two Washington-based advisory firms. He rejoins Brunswick Group after a 2014 campaign for the U.S. Senate in Virginia.
“Ed’s insights and experience will bring tremendous value to the firm as we continue to grow our Washington, D.C. practice and our global public affairs offer,” said Nick Lovegrove, Brunswick’s US Managing Partner. “We are pleased to welcome Ed back and look forward to bringing his unmatched counsel and guidance to our clients,” added David Sutphen, head of Brunswick’s Washington, D.C. office.
On his return to the firm, Mr. Gillespie said: “Brunswick Group provides its clients with the best communications advice in the world. I’m excited to be working with the firm again, and specifically, with the Washington office.”
Mr. Gillespie will divide his time between Brunswick Group and his Alexandria, Virginia firm Ed Gillespie Strategies, which he formed in 2009.
