Experienced communications professional further strengthens offer in Germany.
Munich Re's long-standing Head of Communications, Christian Lawrence, will join the Brunswick Group, a leading corporate advisory firm, as a Partner on 1 June 2017. He will be based in Munich, further strengthening Brunswick’s German team.
Susan Gilchrist, CEO of the Brunswick Group, said, "Christian Lawrence is a recognized communications expert with tremendous experience. We are very pleased that he will be joining us to strengthen our team in Germany, one of our key markets in which we have delivered strong growth in recent years. Christian will also further develop our capability to support both German and international clients on cross-border transactions and projects.”
On joining Christian said, "I'm looking forward to the new task, I particularly like the variety of exciting projects that Brunswick works on, and the collaboration with outstanding colleagues around the world. At this point, I am still focused on facilitating the CEO change and a seamless transition for my successor at Munich Re and will join Brunswick this summer.”
Brunswick’s German offices have recently advised on a number of major inbound and outbound cross-border transactions, including Bayer AG’s $66 billion acquisition of Monsanto, the merger of Siemens’ wind power business with Spain’s Gamesa, the acquisition of Krauss Maffei Group by ChemChina, and the acquisition of robot maker Kuka by China’s Midea Group.

One of his core competencies is the transition of traditional communications into the digital world. In the last years he has successfully implemented this process at Munich Re. Previously, he was Head of Global Communications at General Reinsurance, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway based in Stamford, Connecticut. Lawrence’s experience in the financial services sector is complemented by 8 years with the German automotive supplier Bosch, where he held various positions, among them he was the Head of Communications of its UK subsidiary, Robert Bosch Ltd, in London.
