Brunswick Group, the strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues, today announced that Charles A. (Charlie) Koons has joined the firm as a partner in New York focused on M&A, shareholder activism, corporate governance, and investor engagement.
Charlie has more than 24 years’ experience as a trusted advisor in M&A and in proxy contests to both corporate issuers as well as shareholders. He has broad experience in advising executive teams and boards of directors on how best to deal with activist issues.

Charlie was most recently Managing Director of the Activism & Contested Situations Advisory Group at Morrow Sodali, advising clients on shareholder activism and mergers and acquisitions.
Before that, he was a Managing Director of Shareholder Activism at Mackenzie Partners, where he advised clients in some of the largest Wall Street proxy contests and hostile M&A situations.
He has a B.A. in European Studies from Vanderbilt University.
