Brunswick enhances global advisory capabilities on China-related issues.
April 11, 2022 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Andy Browne and Seth Faison have joined as Partners in the New York office.
Andy will lead Brunswick’s China Hub, working closely with colleagues in China and globally, including the firm’s Geopolitical practice, to advise clients on China-related issues. Andy spent 35 years in Asia, serving as China Editor and Columnist for The Wall Street Journal in China and as Asia-Pacific News Editor for Thomson Reuters. Most recently, he was Editorial Director of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum. Andy returns to Brunswick, having served as a Partner in Beijing between 2007 and 2009.
Seth will also advise clients on China-related matters as part of the China Hub. He spent more than a decade in senior journalism roles in China, including as Shanghai Bureau Chief for the New York Times and as the founder of the South China Morning Post’s Beijing bureau. He was Head of the New York Office at strategic communications firm, Sitrick and Company, and Head of Communications for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

About Andy Browne
Andy has served in senior editorial roles at top-tier news publications for many years, most recently as Editorial Director of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum. Prior to joining Bloomberg in New York, he spent 35 years in Asia, latterly as a China Editor and Columnist for the Wall Street Journal.
He started his career in journalism in 1982 at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, before moving to Reuters News Agency where he spent 20 years running news bureaus in Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul, before becoming Asia Pacific News Editor in Singapore. Andy also spent two years as a Partner in Brunswick’s Beijing office between 2007 and 2009.
Andy won the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 2007 as part of a team of Wall Street Journal reporters in Beijing and shared an Overseas Press Club award for business reporting on China in 2011. Andy was also a guest commentator on NBC’s coverage of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics earlier this year.
He received a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Leeds.
About Seth Faison
Seth advised clients most recently as an independent communications strategist. He previously served as Head of Communications at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria where he oversaw media relations, digital strategy and special events. Prior to that, he headed the New York Office of a strategic communications firm, Sitrick and Company. As a correspondent at the New York Times, he served as Shanghai Bureau Chief and won a Pulitzer Prize as part of a team covering breaking news.
Seth lived and worked in China for more than a decade, first as a student of the Chinese language and then as a journalist in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. This included opening a news bureau in Beijing for the South China Morning Post.
Seth received a BA in European Intellectual History from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
