Marleen joined Brunswick in May 2011. Prior to that she completed her postgraduate degree in CSR Management while working as a Research Associate at Erasmus University’s School of Economics where she developed bespoke methodologies to measure the social impact of socially responsible investment for large assets owners. Before this, she gained work experience through a period of internships which included the United Nations in New York, the EU Delegation to the UN, and the Dutch Embassy in Albania.
Her transaction experience includes: AB InBev’s proposed $106bn acquisition of SABMiller; Lafarge’s $50bn merger with Holcim; Delhaize’s $28bn merger with Ahold; Charter International's hostile defense against Melrose and the subsequent $2.4bn takeover by Colfax Corporation; and, Globe Specialty Metals’ $3.1bn merger with FerroAtlantica. In addition, her work has focused on corporate positioning and thought leadership campaigns, with core specialisms in issues and stakeholder mapping. Her retained clients have included AB InBev, Barrick Gold, BHP Billiton, Delhaize, Dixons Carphone, and XPO Logistics.
