Advising on the launch of a new international biennial, we helped support London’s growing status as a world design capital.
The first biennial dedicated to design in a major capital city, the London Design Biennale launched in September 2016 with 37 countries from 6 continents presenting innovative and thought-provoking designs. We worked with the Biennale to develop a communications strategy and clear positioning for the new event ahead of the media launch, while our programme of networking and profile-raising for the director supported efforts to secure the participation of different countries. As well as driving footfall and supporting ticket sales, the ambition was to present the London Design Biennale as an exciting, unique and highly influential platform for global design whilst cultivating long-standing relationships. In total, 645 journalists visited the Biennale, ensuring that the event became known in all the territories represented.
