Brunswick Group bolsters senior team in India

Munesh Khanna joins as a Partner and Vikram Limaye joins as a Senior Advisor to enhance Brunswick’s India advisory capabilities

May 31, 2023 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced two senior appointments to its India team. Munesh Khanna will join as a Partner on July 1, 2023 and Vikram Limaye will join as a Senior Advisor on June 1, 2023, both based in Mumbai. Munesh and Vikram add meaningfully to Brunswick’s senior presence in India, where the firm is enjoying strong growth.

Munesh joins Brunswick from Backbay Advisors, a financial advisory firm he co-founded in 2017. Previously, he led the India operations of NM Rothschild & Sons, Investment Banking at DSP Merrill Lynch and the Corporate Finance & Business Restructuring team at PwC. He began his career with Arthur Andersen, where he became a Tax partner and subsequently set up the corporate finance function.

Vikram was the Managing Director and CEO of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited for five years until July 2022. He was previously the Managing Director and CEO of IDFC Limited, a diversified, publicly listed financial services conglomerate. He started his career with Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young and Citibank in Mumbai and spent eight years on Wall Street at Credit Suisse First Boston.

About Munesh Khanna

Munesh has more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate advisory and financial services domains. He specializes in providing strategic advice to business leaders, founders and promoters to enhance the value of their businesses. He joins Brunswick from financial advisory firm, Backbay Advisors, which he co-founded and where he served as a Partner.

Previously, Munesh led the Corporate Finance & Business Restructuring team at PwC and, before that, held senior positions at ENAM Holdings, Grant Thornton and Centrum Capital. Munesh led Investment Banking at DSP Merrill Lynch and, before that, the India operations of NM Rothschild & Sons. He began his career with Arthur Andersen, where he became a Tax partner and subsequently set up the corporate finance function.

Munesh is also an independent director on the boards of several companies in India.

About Vikram Limaye

Vikram was the Managing Director and CEO of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) for five years until July 2022. NSE is the largest exchange in India, the world’s largest derivatives exchange in terms of volume of contracts traded and in the top four exchanges globally for cash market trades.

Prior to joining NSE, Vikram was the Managing Director & CEO of IDFC Limited, a diversified, publicly listed financial services conglomerate focused on infrastructure lending and advisory, commercial banking, investment banking and institutional broking, private equity and asset management. He worked in the audit and business advisory services groups of both Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young and in the consumer banking group of Citibank in Mumbai. He worked on Wall Street for eight years with Credit Suisse First Boston in investment banking, capital markets, structured finance and credit portfolio management.

Vikram has contributed to various Indian government committees and industry associations on topics including infrastructure, economic policy and trade. He has served on the Boards of Directors of several companies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations. He was appointed by the Supreme Court of India to a four-member Committee of Administrators for governance and administration of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and served as the Chairman of the Working Committee of WFE.
