Tom Burns

Tom Burns has extensive experience of financial and corporate communications and is co-lead of the firm’s global Financial Institutions Group. He has advised a range of international companies on their communications in high profile and sensitive situations, including takeovers, capital raisings, IPOs, crises and litigation.

Before joining Brunswick in 2004, Tom worked in a number of policy and communications roles in the public, private and voluntary sectors. He previously handled international affairs for the Association of British Insurers (ABI), where he was responsible for the development and promotion of UK insurance industry interests on international public policy and regulatory issues. Tom is a trustee of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh's Commonwealth Study Conferences (UK Fund), and a member of the Advisory Board of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council. He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge.

Tom has significant experience in the financial, energy and consumer sectors. His clients have included BP, Direct Line Group, Dixons Carphone, Hiscox, ING Group, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Kraft, National Grid, Prudential and RIT Capital Partners.
