Prior to joining Brunswick, Tetsuya spent twelve years with Mitsubishi Corporation, the largest trading house in Japan, with a focus on the oil and gas sector, especially in liquefied natural gas projects. Tetsuya led project development of LNG projects in Australia, the United States and South Asia, where he intensively engaged in stakeholder and joint venture management.
Tetsuya started his career in the Japanese Foreign Service as a fast track diplomat where he served for nine years, including a posting in London. While in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, he took part in the United Nations affairs, including the international coalition to fight piracy off the coast of Somalia, and accession to an international treaty and drafting of its domestic legislation. He also participated in several crisis response missions, including 2011's Great Japan Earthquake.
Tetsuya brings global and local knowledge to business critical issues, advising businesses on how to gain a competitive edge, address internal issues, and successfully deliver on complex projects and mandates.
Tetsuya holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Keio University and a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford. He is fluent in Japanese and English.
