Stephen leads Brunswick’s Energy & Resources group in the United States. He advises clients on a range of public affairs, crisis communications and corporate reputation issues, with an emphasis on legislative campaigns, media handling and the challenges facing energy and transportation companies worldwide.

Stephen’s past experience includes writing about the global energy, automobile and airline industries as a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal for 11 years in Germany and Washington and reporting for the Dallas Morning News for five years on the paper’s city, state and business desks. He also has written for The New York Times and the Boston Globe and appeared on the BBC, CNBC, C-Span, FOX and other networks.

At Brunswick, he has advised both alternative and traditional energy and transportation companies. Among them: the electric-vehicle manufacturers Lucid Motors and Fisker on their mergers with special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs); Saudi Aramco on communications strategy in support of its initial public offering; and BP on communications related to litigation over the Deepwater Horizon accident. He also has led multiple successful campaigns around legislation affecting the energy, rail and trucking industries.
