Rob Pinker

Group Chief Operating Officer, Head of Middle East and Africa

Rob is Chief Operating Officer and Head of India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) for the Brunswick Group. He is responsible for the operational performance management of the firm across 23 offices in 14 countries and remains actively involved advising clients – in particular on critical board issues, mergers and acquisitions and crisis/issue management. He is the global relationship partner for some of the firm’s largest accounts.

He has over 25 years of experience in the communications industry. Rob began his career in the world of political advocacy, working for the leading lobbyist of the day, IGA – initially in Westminster and then Brussels. For six years, he worked as public affairs campaign adviser to corporates, foreign governments and NGO's and worked for two ministers in the UK elections of 1992 and 1997. Rob joined Brunswick in London in 1995. He spent five years advising clients in our London office on wider corporate and financial reputation management before moving to Johannesburg in 2000 to head up the firm’s fledgling business in the region.

Rob acts as a senior consultant to clients operating across all major sectors, with particular emphasis on Energy and Resources, Financial Services, Industrial, TMT and Consumer industries. He has extensive experience in advising on major cross border and domestic M&A, IPO's, crisis and issue management.

Rob also serves as a member of the Steering Committee of South Africa-United Kingdom Business Council and advisors a number of charities.
