Rhodri Phillips
Director
Rhodri is a director in the Foundations and Philanthropic team.
He joined Brunswick from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, where, as Deputy Director of Communication and a senior civil servant, he led on the department’s messaging on a huge range of issues, including international development, climate change, growth, the Middle East and Africa.
He was previously Head of News at the Department for International Development and press secretary to a number of International Development Secretaries, proactively setting out the compelling case for international development.
He has worked on crises, campaigns, external affairs and tackling disinformation – with a clear focus on telling complicated stories in a simple, compelling, impactful way.
At the start of his career, Rhodri was a journalist for 15 years, mainly working on UK national newspapers, including as The Sun’s business editor.
