Patrick Matthews
Director
Patrick works with clients on pan-European media relations and integrated policy campaigns, primarily in the technology, media, and telecoms as well as consumer brands spaces. He specializes in helping clients build relationships and land their messages with the Brussels press corps.
As a member of the firm’s Public Affairs, Regulation & Geopolitical practice, he is well-versed in supporting clients on competition and antitrust matters. He completed a secondment supporting a global technology company with its policy communications, focusing on the EU’s Digital Markets Act.
Prior to joining Brunswick, Patrick was a spokesperson for a former NATO Secretary General and media advisor for the Alliance of Democracies Foundation. He also worked for a boutique Belgian communications firm advising Belgian scale-ups with their investment communications and thought leadership. He started his career at ING Belgium.
Patrick was awarded and served as a Fulbright grantee at Ghent University, Belgium. He holds a B.A. in International Relations and French from Tulane University.
