Lauren Oppenheimer

Lauren has 25 years of experience working on financial services issues in a regulatory capacity, on Capitol Hill, and at a think tank.
Lauren comes to the Brunswick Group from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), an independent bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department, which oversees national banks. Lauren was Chief of Staff to the Comptroller, Senior Deputy Comptroller for Public Affairs, and served as a member of the OCC’s Executive Committee.
Prior to the OCC, Lauren was the Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Commerce. Previously, she was the Minority Staff Director for the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Protection. Lauren launched and ran the Capital Markets Initiative at the think tank Third Way and also worked in the House of Representatives for members of Congress on the House Financial Services Committee during Dodd-Frank. She began her career at the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA).
She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
