Karanja is an experienced corporate executive, advisor and attorney who has built his career at the intersection of business, government decision-making, and critical issue advocacy.
Karanja has over 20 years of experience at the nexus of legal, government affairs and operational management in both the public and private sectors. Karanja also has extensive experience in key industries, including manufacturing, hospitality and gaming.
Prior to joining Brunswick Group, he was Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, a casino gaming and hospitality company with online and brick-and-mortar gaming operations spanning five states, where he was responsible for the corporate legal, government affairs and compliance functions.
Karanja also previously worked as the Senior Vice President & General Counsel at del Lago Resort & Casino where, in addition to legal, government affairs and compliance, he was responsible for the casino’s Human Resources and Labor Relations functions. He has also served in various government roles, including as an attorney for New York State Senate and Empire State Development, New York’s chief economic development agency.
Karanja holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duke University.
