Darren McDermott

Darren advises clients on critical communications issues including financial situations, crisis and corporate reputation, particularly as they relate to the complex media landscape.

He has counseled many of the world’s largest brands on leadership transitions, transformational deals, and complex reputational challenges. He often prepares CEOs for high-stakes media interviews and presentations.

He co-leads Brunswick’s U.S. IPO practice and has advised on some of the largest listings in recent years, including Airbnb, DoorDash, and Universal Music Group.

Prior to joining Brunswick in 2012, Darren spent 17 years at The Wall Street Journal where he was a reporter and editor in New York and Hong Kong. Darren is a graduate of Amherst College and Columbia University’s School of Journalism.
