Mike France


Mike counsels clients on a wide range of issues where storytelling is critical, including crisis, litigation, and reputation issues.

Mike joined Brunswick after 12 years at BusinessWeek magazine, where he was a legal reporter, authoring more than a dozen cover stories. He eventually rose to become the Senior Editor in charge of the magazine’s Corporate department, leading a team of editors and writers responsible for the magazine’s coverage of the airline, automobile, energy, food, and retail industries, among others. Prior to his career as a journalist, Mike practiced law for three years at Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe in San Francisco.

An experienced television commentator, he has appeared on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, and other networks. He has also spoken internationally about crisis communications before groups such as the American Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, the Association of General Counsel, and the Lawyers for Civil Justice. He graduated from Wesleyan University and Stanford Law School.

Since joining Brunswick, Mike has advised General Electric, Thomson Reuters, UBS, GSK and Christie’s, among others.
