Meaghan joined Brunswick from Unilever where she led the global social impact work of the Dove brand, responsible for strategy, mass-media campaigns, educational programming and advocacy. Her TED Talk and speech at the UN’s 59th Commission on the Status of Women helped highlight the importance of women’s education and empowerment and she regularly speaks on the role businesses can and must play in creating a sustainable future. She was nominated for the 2015 Women in Business: Australian Business Woman of the Year in the UK Award in recognition of her work on Corporate Purpose.
Meaghan specializes in translating complex concepts into compelling, creative content and is often a bridge between business and academia and civil society. A Science graduate from the University of Sydney with a focus in nutrition, Meaghan has worked across FMCG, health, finance, pharmaceutical and luxury sectors, as well as media, agricultural, tech start-ups, charities and non-government organizations. She has advised business leaders from all regions of the world. She was a commissioned officer in the Australia Army between 2000 and 2003.
Recent years have seen a growing focus on the “purpose” of companies. Businesses are asked to show how they add value to society – beyond shareholders’ dividends or bosses’ bonuses. This pressure is coming from an unlikely alliance of consumers, employees, campaigners, academics, regulators and even investors.
