He has a wide range of experience of both financial and corporate communications, including corporate positioning, crisis and litigation communications work and financial transactions. Japanese clients have included Hitachi and ANA and his financial situations experience includes Softbank’s acquisition of ARM Holdings, and subsequent investment in AR start-up Improbable.
A fluent Japanese speaker, Matthew joined Brunswick from the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in September 2015, where he was responsible for producing Japanese reports analysing UK macroeconomic news, government policy and M&A activity. Prior to this, he spent 3 years working with local government in Takaoka, Japan. Matthew holds a first class BA degree in Japanese and French from the University of Leeds.
