Brunswick strengthens its Foundations, Education, and Global Health sector expertise in the Americas.
December 5th, 2024 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Joel Malina will join the firm as a Partner based in Washington, D.C. on February 3, 2025. In this role, he will advise Brunswick’s Foundations, Education, and Global Health clients on a range of matters, including public affairs, issues and reputation management, profile raising, crisis, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
Joel is a seasoned communications advisor with over 30 years of experience in strategic communications and public affairs. Most recently, he served as Vice President for University Relations at Cornell University, where he spent 11 years leading the institution’s communications and government and community relations efforts. During his tenure, he served as the university’s spokesperson, overseeing Cornell’s internal and external communications strategies and managing relationships with federal, state, and local policymakers and key stakeholders.

Prior to Cornell, Joel served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager at Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates, the former Washington D.C. based public affairs and lobbying firm. Joel joined the firm in 1993, serving in increasingly senior positions during his 21 years there.
