Ira has spent more than 20 years working at the nexus of social and environmental impact and corporate strategy with a focus on ESG, climate, water, and gender issues. He drives strategic outcomes by unifying stakeholders and resources across public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Most recently, he was Head of ESG Partnership and Co-funding for Gap Inc., a global apparel retailer. In this role, he was instrumental in launching the Resilience Fund for Women in Global Value Chains and facilitating a record setting donation of clothes to USA for UNHCR in support of refugees around the world, while driving strategic initiatives to align social and environmental outcomes with financial returns. 

Previously, Ira has been posted to multiple overseas assignments with USAID and the U.S. Department of State working on issues related to climate change, clean energy, water, gender, and economic development.  In addition, he has led strategy and partnership development for global environmental and international development organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, Conservation International and Project Concern International.
