With experience working in New York and Johannesburg, she brings an international perspective and is highly skilled in helping clients develop, manage and execute complex communications programmes across geographies.
Her transaction experience includes: Old Mutual's multi-jurisdictional restructuring; AB-InBev’s combination with SABMiller; Burger King's combination with Tim Hortons; Silver Lake’s contested take-private of Dell; Applied Materials’ proposed merger with Tokyo Electron; and Cigna's proposed combination with Anthem. Additionally, Emily has led a number of longer-term projects to build reputation, including social purpose communications and executive profile-raising. Clients have included Anglo American, AngloGold Ashanti, AB InBev, Old Mutual, MultiChoice, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, PepsiCo, Western Union and Silver Lake.
Prior to joining Brunswick in 2012, Emily worked in Edelman's Corporate & Public Affairs group in New York, supporting companies in the financial services and asset management industries. Emily graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism with a minor in global health studies.
