Brunswick Group promotes record number to the partnership

March 1, 2022 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that 26 colleagues, from 14 offices, have been promoted to Partner. They join 212 existing Partners, reflecting the depth of talent across the firm.

Their leadership will help push the firm further forward this year and beyond.”

New Partners  

David Brown, Washington, D.C.

Dave is an experienced advisor and lawyer who has built his career at the intersection of public affairs, strategic communications and issue advocacy.

Drawing on over 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors, Dave has advised the senior executives of some of the world’s largest companies during high-stakes moments involving congressional and regulatory scrutiny, cross-border M&A and complex litigation. His clients span the tech, media and telecoms (TMT), aerospace and defense, automotive, healthcare and life sciences, financial services, and non-profit sectors.

Dave joined Brunswick from Capitol Hill, where he served as committee counsel to U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) during her chairmanships of the Senate Budget Committee and Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Previously, Dave practiced law at Helsell Fetterman. 

Kev Cheah, New York

Kev is a core member of Brunswick’s Creative Campaigns & Content practice group in the U.S. He leads an award-winning team of designers, writers and art directors, delivering transformative campaigns and strategies for clients both in the U.S. and globally.

An expert in building brands and integrated campaigns, he believes in the multi-faceted power of creativity and storytelling to help brands address their most pressing issues. He balances a deep understanding of insight-driven strategies with creative intuition to drive meaningful change.

Before joining Brunswick in New York, Kev held several senior creative positions at London-based agencies.

Katharine Crallé, New York 

Katharine has spent more than 15 years advising clients around the world as they navigate crises and significant periods of change. She has specific expertise in cyber security and data privacy matters, and helps clients take a full stakeholder approach in their communications around today’s complex security environment. 

Katharine worked in Brunswick’s London, Dubai and Hong Kong offices prior to her return to New York, which has informed the counsel she provides to multinational companies on their most critical issues. 

Liz Dahan, Washington, D.C.

Liz has more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of business, civil society and government decision-making.

At Brunswick, Liz counsels clients across a range of financial, political and social issues. She has a particular focus on social value, sustainability and ESG, working with Boards and C-Suite executives to ensure commercial leadership while mitigating business and reputational risks.

Liz joined Brunswick from Albright Stonebridge Group. Her previous experience includes serving as a counselor to the UAE’s Ambassador to the UN, a senior advisor to the Foreign Minister of Qatar, Special Assistant to the Democratic Leader of the U.S. Senate, and Research Associate at the Council on Foreign Relations and the World Bank.

Eleanor French, San Francisco

Eleanor advises clients on business critical and reputation-defining issues during periods of change and transformation. She is a member of the firm’s Consumer Industries Group with a particular focus on food and beverage, retail and ecommerce.

Eleanor has extensive experience running multi-stakeholder campaigns and cross-border mandates. She brings a global perspective having worked in Brunswick’s New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco offices during her 9 years at Brunswick.

Ben Fry, Singapore

Ben has extensive experience advising clients in the tech, media and telecoms (TMT), financial institutions, healthcare and industrial sectors, globally.

Ben joined Brunswick in 2010, spending five years in London before completing a two-year secondment in Shanghai and joining the Singapore team in 2017. Since arriving in Asia, Ben has advised clients across the region on crisis management and preparedness, supply chain and sustainability issues, corporate positioning and financial communications.

Prior to joining Brunswick, Ben ran his own corporate and private events business in the UK. 

Oliver Huber, Vienna

An expert in finance and banking, Oliver advises clients on financial communications, media relations, government and regulatory affairs, positioning and crises.

Before joining Brunswick, Oliver was Head of Communications and spokesperson of the Austrian National Central Bank (OeNB) and its Governor for 13 years. He represented the Central Bank in European Committees such as the Eurosystem/ESCB and led the integration of the Financial Market Authority and the Banking Supervision of the Central Bank in Austria. Oliver also served as an advisor to the State Secretary in the Austrian Federal Chancellery on economic and financial strategy and public service reform.

Marie Jensen, Paris

Marie co-leads Brunswick’s global luxury sector work and has established extensive experience advising on complex cross-border projects while working across the firm’s Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt, London, Munich and Mumbai offices. She supports clients through reputation and issues management, crisis communications as well as environmental and social sustainability. She has also counselled companies through transformational cultural and operational change, with an emphasis on employee engagement.

Prior to joining Brunswick in 2012, Marie worked at German communications agency komm.passion, where she advised international clients on a range of internal and external communications matters.

Connie Jia, Shanghai 

Connie has more than 20 years of experience in the financial and automotive sectors, having spent the last 15 years in senior communications and public affairs roles. At Brunswick, Connie advises clients in the automotive, tech, media and telecoms (TMT), industrial and consumer sectors.

She joined Brunswick from the Ford Motor Company, where she worked as the Public Affairs Director for Chang’an Ford. Before that, Connie was Communications Director for Chrysler China and served in several roles at General Motors China.

Jason Juceam, New York

Jason draws on his experience as an attorney to advise global organizations on business-critical issues, including crisis and litigation, corporate reputation and financial communications matters. He has supported companies across sectors on complex situations that go to the heart of their businesses. Jason previously served as Chief of Staff to Brunswick’s CEO of the Americas, Nik Deogun.

Prior to joining Brunswick, Jason practiced law at two Am Law 100 firms, advising clients on government investigations, white collar criminal defense and commercial disputes. He also clerked for the Hon. Theodore H. Katz in the Southern District of New York.

Gordon Kgaugelo Letsaolo, Johannesburg

Gordon has extensive experience in corporate reputation, media relations and issues management. Since joining Brunswick in 2006, Gordon has advised clients across multiple sectors and has also worked on several transactions and other financial, media and crisis work. He is also a core member of the firm’s Business and Society practice group in Johannesburg.

Before joining Brunswick, Gordon worked at Arcay Financial Communications. He also worked as Acting Head of Communications at Old Mutual Emerging Markets and at Mutual & Federal (Old Mutual Insure) as a consultant to the Africa & New Markets division.

Hubert Kümper, Berlin 

Hubert is a seasoned advisor in the healthcare and life sciences sector. He has extensive experience across global and German disease awareness campaigns, integrated healthcare programmes and multi-stakeholder initiatives, with deep expertise in health policy-based programmes and coordinating market access activity. He supports clients on recent health policy developments and other routes to reimbursement, as well as engagement with key decision-makers, including members of the Federal Joint Committee and medical KOLs.

Hubert also has extensive experience in product communication for medtech and pharma companies, having worked in the highly-regulated and dynamic German pharma market for more than 20 years. 

Eilís Murphy, London

Eilís is a key member of Brunswick’s Financial Institutions Group, advising clients on a range of matters including financial media and investor relations, M&A, IPOs, crises and corporate positioning.

Eilís has over 20 years of experience in capital markets transactions, which in recent years have included RSA’s sale to Intact and Trygg, UBI Banca’s defence against a hostile takeover by Intesa San Paolo, UKAR asset sales, and ReAssure’s planned IPO and eventual sale to Phoenix. She has specific expertise in reputation defining mandates, driving long-term value for clients across the financial services sector.

Eilís joined Brunswick in 2000, after relocating to London from Dublin where she worked for Carr Communications.

Rosie Oddy, London

Rosie has 15 years of experience in financial and corporate communications, with experience spanning high-profile M&A, corporate positionings, management changes, strategy launches and crises. Rosie has deep expertise in consumer-facing industries, having spent the majority of her career advising clients across sectors including beverages, travel, grocery, fashion, retail and beauty.

Prior to joining Brunswick, Rosie was a Director at Teneo and previously at FTI Consulting.

Simon Pluckrose, Dubai 

With more than 25 years of experience in journalism and corporate communications, both in the Middle East and the UK, Simon is an experienced storyteller with a deep understanding of the media. As a core member of the firm’s tech, media and telecoms (TMT) sector, he works with clients across the Middle East, Asia and Africa on a range of critical issues, from crisis response and reputation management to strategy development, stakeholder engagement and financial reporting.

Before joining Brunswick, Simon spent more than 20 years working as a journalist in the UK and the United Arab Emirates, including eight years with the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), and prior to that, Newsquest and Johnston Press. 

Kavi Reddy, New York 

Kavi is Brunswick’s Co-General Counsel. She leads on all legal and contractual issues with clients and vendors in the U.S. She also advises on litigation, labor and employment matters, commercial production, media and intellectual property issues, and regulatory and compliance matters. 

She joined Brunswick from Gizmodo Media Group where she was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. Previously, she was Deputy General Counsel of Gawker Media and, before that, Counsel at NBCUniversal. She started her career as a trial lawyer at Boies, Schiller and Flexner.  

Adam Riley, London 

Adam is Brunswick’s Group Head of Value and Pricing. He leads the Global Fee Committee day to day and acts as the overall custodian of the firm’s value and pricing strategy, providing expert support to leadership and client teams to put value firmly at the heart of all that we do.

Prior to Brunswick, Adam was a Managing Director with Accenture, leading their European Pricing team, guiding and managing pricing, profitability and sales effectiveness matters across the region. He was also a member of Accenture's Global Negotiations Centre of Excellence. Adam spent his early career as an Officer in the British Army where he rose to the rank of Major while serving in a wide range of roles at Regimental Duty, within Headquarters LAND Command, the Ministry of Defence and on operational deployments. 

Jeremy Ruch, London

Jeremy has more than 20 years of experience conducting opinion research among key stakeholders for the world’s largest organizations.

At Brunswick, Jeremy has supported clients in the energy, consumer, tech, media and telecoms (TMT), healthcare, financial services and charitable sectors. Based in London, Jeremy has also worked in Brunswick’s Washington, D.C. office, and frequently works across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

Jeremy joined Brunswick from FTI Consulting in Washington, D.C. where he led reputation, public affairs and thought leadership research for clients across multiple sectors. Prior to that, Jeremy worked as a pollster for political and public affairs campaigns.

Dr. Philipp Schüler, Frankfurt

Philipp advises clients on a range of critical situations and complex projects.

Since joining Brunswick in 2006, he has supported clients on IPOs, complex cross-border M&A situations, capital markets communications and profile raising. He combines his in-depth experience in strategic advisory with digital communications, campaign support, and data collection and analysis expertise.

Matthew Soden, London 

Matthew is Brunswick’s Group Financial Controller and has responsibility for the firm’s global finance and reporting function. Matthew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Baker Tilly in 2004 and joined Brunswick in 2006 primarily with a UK focus. He now has a much wider global remit, has overseen two finance system implementations and has played a key role in the firm’s corporate restructure in 2021.

In addition to his finance responsibilities, Matthew is a member of the Group Environmental Committee, helping to set the firm’s Net Zero strategy.

Claire Thomas-Daoulas, San Francisco 

Claire has extensive experience advising multinational companies on issues at the intersection of business and politics – from lobbying and public affairs campaigns on specific regulatory issues to supporting clients on antitrust and competition matters, as well as broader reputation issues and crises. She has deep experience working on some of the most recent high-profile and cross-border M&A situations, with a particular focus on the tech, media and telecoms (TMT) sector.

Claire joined Brunswick San Francisco in 2019 after spending almost a decade in Brussels, including 3 years with Brunswick. 

Claire Walsh, London

Claire brings deep expertise in positioning and reputation management to clients in the arts and culture sector.

She acts as a senior advisor to high-profile national and international arts organisations, often through times of change and growth. Claire regularly devises and delivers campaigns and has a strong background in issues management, as well as experience in stakeholder engagement, messaging and the integration of digital communications.

Prior to joining Brunswick Arts in 2008, Claire worked on multiple editions of the Frieze Art Fair and was Head of Press for Haunch of Venison, part of Christie’s.

Quintilla Wikeley, London

Quintilla (Quinn) joined Brunswick in 2015 and has deep experience in agency and in-house communications. Her expertise spans global health and public health – where she works with a range of organizations on issues-led and reputation-building projects and campaigns.

She is particularly experienced in issues management, campaign strategy and supporting leaders in high profile media moments.

Prior to joining Brunswick, she was Head of Communications for Art Fund, where she led communications on major fundraising and corporate campaigns. Before that, she worked as a Senior Advisor at a PR firm with a focus on international cultural clients. 

Alex Yankus, New York

Alex has been advising leading global financial institutions on a diverse range of business-critical issues for more than 15 years. He has advised banks, asset managers, private equity firms and hedge funds on corporate reputation and financial communications related to M&A transactions, capital raises, litigation and crises.

Before joining Brunswick in 2013, Alex worked with financial sector clients at a boutique communications firm and two global law firms.

Yi Zhou, Hong Kong

Yi leads our Healthcare and Life Sciences sector in Asia, advising clients on a range of financial situations, crises and public affairs matters.  Having worked in Shanghai, London, Geneva, New York and now Hong Kong, Yi has developed extensive knowledge and expertise across pharmaceutical, medical-device and consumer-health businesses.

Prior to Brunswick, she built and led the healthcare team at Edelman Hong Kong and successfully integrated the firm’s digital and insights offerings with healthcare communications. Before that, she worked at AstraZeneca, where she led communications for the launch of some of the industry’s best-known brands in China and managed the development and rollout of a new global corporate brand. 

Peter Zysk, Beijing 

Peter is a data-driven strategist overseeing Brunswick Insight in Asia. He helps clients build better communications strategies that are grounded in data and insight. He advises leading Chinese companies on their international expansion strategies and works with global organizations to strengthen their positioning in Asia.

Before joining Brunswick’s Beijing team, Peter spent four years in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office where he helped build the opinion research practice in the U.S.
