Brunswick Group appoints Iris Sibanda as Head of the Johannesburg Office

Marina Bidoli relocates to the Milan Office

July 12, 2022 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Iris Sibanda has been appointed Head of the Johannesburg Office, effective September 1, 2022. Marina Bidoli is relocating to the Milan Office after more than four years as Head of the Johannesburg Office, where she will focus on client advisory and growing Brunswick’s international capabilities in the region.

Neal Wolin, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Since joining Brunswick in 2009, Iris has played a key role in developing our Johannesburg office and broadening our work throughout Africa. She has deep experience across sectors and practice groups, has led the firm’s DEI efforts in the region and has demonstrated outstanding leadership on her teams and in the office. She will be a fantastic leader for the Johannesburg team, which plays such an important role in the IMEA region and across the wider Brunswick network.

Iris advises clients on a range of critical issues, complex M&A, crises and media relations in South Africa and across Africa.

Prior to joining Brunswick in 2009, Iris was a credit rating analyst at a ratings agency focused on pan-African markets. During this time, she gained experience in the East and West African markets, predominantly working with the insurance industry.

She has worked on several transactions, regulatory and corporate reputation mandates across sectors, including for MTN Group, Access Bank, Kansai Paint, Barloworld and Old Mutual.
