February 27, 2025 – Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that 12 colleagues have been promoted to Partner.

New Partners
Celine Aswad (Financial Practice, Dubai)
Celine is a financial communications advisor with extensive experience in investor relations and financial situations including IPOs, M&As and debt restructuring. Since joining the firm in 2017, she has advised a wide range of prominent businesses in the UAE and KSA spanning multiple sectors including real estate, financial institutions, logistics and energy.
Before joining Brunswick, Celine was a Gulf Capital Markets Correspondent at Reuters, where she covered the GCC’s capital markets and business news. She started her career as a macroeconomic research analyst at NCB Capital, a leading Saudi-based asset management and investment banking firm.
Cerith Evans (Financial Practice, New York)
With experience across Asia, Europe and the US, Cerith specializes in supporting global clients on complex, high-stakes issues.
Based in New York, he works across financial and corporate communications, with a focus in M&A and corporate positioning. He began his career in Brunswick’s London office before spending two years in Mumbai, expanding the firm’s presence and supporting international companies in navigating the Indian business landscape. Cerith has also played a key role in Brunswick management, working closely across two leadership teams on the development and delivery of group strategy.
Christopher Thompson (Financial Practice, London)
Christopher joined Brunswick in November 2021 after nearly two decades as a financial journalist and specialises in working with financial institutions and other multinationals across a range of critical issues.
Prior to joining Brunswick, he was a columnist at Reuters Breakingviews where he wrote about corporate finance across Europe and, beforehand, the banking writer on the Lex column at the Financial Times where he also worked as a business reporter and economics editor.
Based in London, Christopher is also a member of the Spain team.
Ed Brown (Financial Practice, London)
Ed is a key member of Brunswick’s Financial practice, working on a range of our most significant and complex transactions globally. He has advised listed and private companies on more than 90 transactions spanning M&A, restructuring, equity and debt issuance, IPOs and shareholder activism defence situations.
He has extensive cross-border experience in a wide range of sectors including markets across Europe, Africa, North America, as well as Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, China, and the Middle East.
Ed joined Brunswick from Edelman’s specialist Capital Markets team, where he worked on financial situations and helped establish the private capital offering.
Jamil Fahmy (Financial Practice, Dubai)
Jamil advises the leadership teams of Middle Eastern and multinational organisations on their capital markets, investor relations, and corporate positioning activities. He is experienced across a variety of sectors with a focus on financial services and real estate.
Jamil is a Saudi national and joined Brunswick’s Dubai office in 2016. He has more than 17 years of multidisciplinary professional experience, having previously worked as a management consultant at Monitor Deloitte and a treasury products dealer at the Saudi National Bank.
Jonathan Cole (Digital Practice, Johannesburg)
Jonathan leads Brunswick’s global SEO offer and the South African digital team. He has 18 years' experience in SEO and digital advertising and communications.
Before Brunswick he ran the Media and Analytics team for the global digital media agency Mullen Lowe Profero in Sydney, where he developed and implemented digital strategy and advertising solutions for global clients.
Prior to his digital career, Jonathan was a Rhodes Scholar, and he ran Oxford University’s Centre for Maritime Archaeology.
Masato Ui (Regulatory & Public Affairs Practice, Tokyo)
Masato advises Japanese companies on addressing critical issues in the global market and multinationals facing high-stakes situations in Japan.
He has worked on various issues, including crises, public and regulatory affairs, M&A, shareholder activism and corporate reputation building, leveraging his significant experience engaging diverse stakeholders in Japan and internationally.
Earlier in his career, he worked at the Bank of Japan, where he led monetary policy and capital markets, and was also seconded to the Ministry of Finance, leading the budget assessment for the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. Prior to joining Brunswick, he led policy advocacy at PayPal Japan.
Matthew Brown (Financial Practice, London)
As a member of Brunswick’s global Japan practice, Matthew has spent the past decade advising major Japanese corporations on a range of high-stakes issues from cross-border transactions to crisis, litigation and reputation-building campaigns.
A fluent Japanese speaker, Matthew brings experience working within Japanese governmental organisations, including at the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s trade promotion agency JETRO, and for local government in the city of Takaoka.
Matthew is an alumnus of the Japanese international exchange initiative, the JET Programme, and a board member of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK.
Nicolas Grange (Financial Practice, Paris)
Nicolas joined Brunswick in 2017 where he advises clients on a wide range of critical issues with a focus on Capital Markets, Crisis and Corporate Reputation.
With a focus on the Technology Media & Telecom sector, his work has included a number of high-profile M&A transactions and public listings. He has also advised senior management teams and boards on several sensitive shareholder activism situations.
Nicolas started his career at J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank in London. He then gained further business experience in management consulting where he advised clients on new business proposals, strategic development plans and transformation programmes.
Patricia Graue (Financial Practice, New York)
Patricia advises C-suite and senior management teams on investor, media, and stakeholder relations strategies and programs related to complex capital markets matters including IPOs, transactions, and shareholder activism. She has extensive experience delivering executive counsel and leading global teams advising market-leading companies through reputation-defining moments.
Prior to joining Brunswick, Patricia worked at Goldman Sachs and Citi in consumer-retail equity research.
Shannon Kirby (Regulatory & Public Affairs Practice, London)
Shannon is a former lawyer and policy official who specializes in public affairs and regulatory issues, litigation and disputes. She has extensive experience in foreign direct investment, multi-jurisdictional legal disputes and political strategy across a variety of sectors.
Shannon joined Brunswick from the UK Government’s Ministry of Justice, where she worked under two Lord Chancellors. Prior to that, she was a senior lawyer in the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) and held advisory posts under Lord Neuberger, the former president of the Supreme Court and Lord Dyson, the former Master of the Rolls.
Yi-Ke Hong (Leadership & Transformation Practice, Beijing)
Yi-Ke has spent over a decade working across the consumer, energy and healthcare sectors, advising foreign multinationals and Chinese companies on a range of areas including corporate reputation, public affairs, social impact and internal communications.
Yi-Ke has worked on high-profile litigation matters, anti-corruption investigations, environmental incidents, and safety crises, often advising clients facing threats to business continuity and those looking to rebuild their corporate reputations.
