Takashi Kawamoto

One of the founding members in the Tokyo office, Takashi is a experienced corporate affairs strategist with a background in management consulting and public policy.

He leads the firm’s U.S.-Japan business to advise Japanese companies operating in the U.S. and U.S. companies navigating the Japanese market.

He has advised on multi-stakeholders engagement strategy and execution in situations involving crisis management, corporate structure/culture reform, cyber data breach, ESG, M&A, litigation and public affairs and his clients have included Kansai Paint, Seven & i Holdings, TEPCO, Otsuka Holdings, Tokio Marine, Nikkei, Yakult, Johnson & Johnson, and Swiss RE. 

Prior to Brunswick, he was Program Management Officer for Public Private Partnership at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) in Brussels.

Before this he was closely engaged in Japanese business, policy and politics across various industries as Strategy Consultant at the World Economic Forum Japan office, Senior Consultant of Strategy Unit at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting LLC in Tokyo (awarded Best Consultant of 2015), and at the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo.

He has also served as a policy advisor to the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan and the Government of Japan for rule-making strategy on next-generation automotive and cyber security, as well as currently serving as Senior Researcher at Keio University.
