A former Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, Stuart originally trained with the UK’s competition authority and he led government relations at the energy regulator. Over the years he has held policy and strategy roles in a range of election and referendum campaigns.
At Brunswick, Stuart provides strategic advice to clients globally on complex communications and regulatory issues. He has led teams across Europe and North America, giving Board-level advice to clients including Pfizer, 21st Century Fox, CK Hutchison, AkzoNobel and Unilever.
His M&A experience in London includes many of the highest-profile transactions of the past decade. He has advised Ministers on Kraft’s acquisition of Cadbury, Royal Mail on its privatization, Pfizer on its approach for AstraZeneca, ARM on its acquisition by SoftBank and GKN on its acquisition by Melrose.
Stuart holds a BA in History and Politics from the University of Oxford; a PGCert in Competition Policy from Oxford Brookes University; and an MSc in Finance from the University of London.
