Katharine Spence


Katharine’s background is retail and journalism and she advises a range of clients in the luxury and retail sectors, both private and publicly-listed, which have included Burberry, Harrods, Richemont, Farfetch, Corbin & King, Berkeley Group and De La Rue. She advised Jaeger in its sale to Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

Katharine has considerable in-house critical communications and reputation building experience, working at Harrods for nine years as Group Director of Corporate Affairs and Director of Press and Public Affairs. During this time she ran the media campaign for former owner Mohamed Al Fayed during the high profile inquests into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed. While at Harrods she also worked directly for the Qatar Investment Authority, advising on international media relations. Prior to Harrods Katharine had an extensive career in broadcast journalism, at BBC News and as a correspondent with Sky News. She was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford.
