Prior to joining Brunswick, Erik served as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Senior Advisor to the SEC's Division of Enforcement, Special Assistant to the President and White House spokesman, Director at public affairs firm Clark & Weinstock, and US Senate Communications Director. He began his career as a radio and television journalist. Erik is a member of the Board of Visitors of the Fund for American Studies’ Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems and serves on the Board of Directors of Friends of Aspen Institute Germany.
Erik has counseled clients including Barclays, BNP Paribas, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Santander, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, US Bank, State Street, Fifth Third Bank, Citizens Bank, Visa, AIG, Prudential, Moody’s, The Clearing House, Microsoft, Restaurant Brands International (Burger King/Tim Hortons), Infosys, the Semiconductor Industry Association and several alternative investment firms. He has advised Facebook on its $16 billion IPO, Lending Club on its $870 million IPO, Nokia on its $16.6 billion acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent and Reckitt Benckiser Group on its $17.9 billion acquisition of Mead Johnson Nutrition Company.
