The Columbia Threadneedle Prize is Europe’s leading open competition for figurative and representational painting and sculpture.
In 2008, asset manager Columbia Threadneedle and Mall Galleries established The Columbia Threadneedle Prize which is Europe’s leading open competition for figurative and representational painting and sculpture. Since its sixth edition in 2013, Brunswick has worked with both partners to transform the prize into a highly regarded European award.
Following an extensive stakeholder audit and strategy workshop, Brunswick Arts made and implemented a number of recommendations to make the prize more relevant and media-worthy. This included:
- Introduction of high profile jury members
- Addition of a curated exhibition by a well-known curator alongside prize
- In additional to the £20,000 prize, the winner would receive a solo exhibition in the Threadneedle Space at Mall Galleries
- Brokered a partnership with Palazzo Strozzi to host the European leg of the Prize
The team also advised on Columbia Threadneedle Foundation’s activities to ensure all opportunities are in line with the wider programme and mission, and agreed partnerships were fully maximised.
