Brunswick further strengthens global financial situations capabilities.
August 31, 2022 - Brunswick Group, the strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues, today announced that Paul Lai will join as a Partner in Hong Kong on September 1, 2022.
Paul brings more than two decades of experience in corporate finance and investment banking, advising on transactions for corporates and governments throughout Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States. Most recently, he was Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Regional Head and Head of the Corporate and Institutional Bank Greater China at Westpac. Prior to that, Paul was Senior Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia at BBVA. He previously held a number of senior roles at CITIC CLSA, HSBC and UBS.
At Brunswick, Paul will advise clients on financial situations, including complex mergers and acquisitions and other capital market transactions.

About Paul Lai
Paul brings more than two decades of corporate banking, corporate finance and investment banking experience to Brunswick, including mergers and acquisitions and local and international debt and equity capital markets advisory. He joins Brunswick from Westpac, where he was Chief Executive of the Hong Kong branch, Regional Head and Head of the Corporate and Institutional Bank Greater China, responsible for overseeing the firm’s businesses and operations in Greater China.
Prior to this, Paul was Senior Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia at BBVA. Previously, he held a number of senior roles at CITIC CLSA, HSBC and UBS.
Paul received a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Finance from the University of Southern California.
