David Sutphen is a Partner in our Washington, DC office and plays a leading role in providing strategic communications and reputational guidance to corporations and non-profits. With over fifteen years of experience in government and private industry, David has a proven history of helping clients further their business priorities and build partnerships that advance their public policy goals and social responsibility missions. In addition to his work with Brunswick, David serves on the Board of Directors for GetSchooled, Business Forward and the US Soccer Foundation.

Prior to joining Brunswick, David held senior positions in the media and entertainment industry at Viacom and the Recording Industry Association of America. He began his career practicing law at Covington & Burling before moving into politics where he served as the Chief of Staff to former Congressman Harold Ford and General Counsel to the late Senator Edward Kennedy.
