Kevin Bailey joins Brunswick Group as Partner

Bailey will become a partner in the Washington, D.C. office focusing on litigation and crisis communications.

Brunswick Group, a leading corporate advisory firm, announced today that Kevin Bailey, currently chief legal counsel for communications and external affairs at BP plc in the U.S., will join the firm February 1 as a partner.

Based in Brunswick’s Washington, D.C. office, Mr. Bailey will focus primarily on litigation and crisis communications, as well as related reputational issues. In this role, Mr. Bailey will draw on his nearly two decades of experience handling government investigations, regulatory affairs and crisis communications matters, both as in-house counsel for BP and, previously, as a lawyer at the leading U.S. law firm, WilmerHale.

“Our litigation communications practice has an unparalleled track record of supporting clients at their most critical times,” said Group Chief Executive Officer Susan Gilchrist. “Kevin’s significant experience working at the intersection of law, regulation and communications will be a real asset to clients as they navigate more complex litigation and regulatory challenges around the world. We are delighted to bring him on board.”

“Kevin has an impressive background leading global litigation communications efforts on cases with serious business implications, and his counsel will be an incredible asset to the firm,” said U.S. Managing Partner Nick Lovegrove. “Kevin will also add senior-level experience to our growing Washington, D.C. office. We are thrilled that he has joined our team.”

On joining the firm, Mr. Bailey said:
“I am excited to join Brunswick and to help its clients navigate high-stakes litigation and reputation issues,” said Mr. Bailey. “I’m looking forward to building on the firm’s expertise in advising companies, particularly those that face complex communications issues stemming from the increasingly challenging litigation and regulatory environment in the U.S. and elsewhere.”

Litigation communications is one of eight specialist practices at Brunswick. The practice has developed and executed communications strategies for more than 100 clients involved in legal disputes around the world.
