Prior to joining Brunswick in 2009, Iris was a credit rating analyst at a niche rating agency that focused on the pan-African markets. During this time she gained experience in working in the East and West African markets where she predominantly did insurance ratings work and some corporate ratings.
She has worked on a number of transactions and regulatory work including Foskor’s BEE deal, TisoGroup and Kagiso Trust Investments merger, Access Bank’s integration with Intercontinental Bank, the integration of First City Monument Bank with FinBank, Absa’s acquisition of Barclays Africa assets in eight countries, Competition Commission investigation into anti-competitive behavior in the construction sector and the Holdsport IPO.
At Brunswick she has advised clients on South African and pan African transactions.
