Brunswick strengthens its Senior Advisory network with the appointment of Hilary Joffe in Johannesburg.
Brunswick Group, a leading corporate advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Hilary Joffe has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. Hilary joins Brunswick from the South African national newspaper Business Day, where she was Editor-at-Large.
Hilary’s deep knowledge of business, finance and policy-making and an international reputation as one of South Africa’s most distinguished journalists, add considerable heft to Brunswick’s growing Public Affairs offer. In particular, her experience will strengthen the firm’s competition and anti-trust communications and stakeholder advisory practice.

About Hilary Joffe
Hilary is the former Editor-at-Large of Business Day, the South African national newspaper, which she first joined in 1995 as a Columnist and Associate Editor. From 2000 to 2001, Hilary was a Consultant for Genesis Analytics, returning to Business Day as Senior Associate Editor and Chief Leader Writer. In 2010, Hilary took on the role of General Manager and National Spokesperson for Eskom, where she worked for three years, leading a turnaround of the South African power utility’s communications strategy.
Prior to this, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Cape Town and as Senior Economist at Standard Bank, and wrote for Finance Week, Weekly Mail and the Financial Mail.
Hilary attended Wits University where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors in Industrial Psychology. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Sociology degree from Oxford University.
Hilary has won multiple awards including the Eskom Chairman’s Awards special award for the “Keep the Lights On” team in 2012, and the Ruth First Fellowship in 2008.
