It’s 3:00am and your phone rings. It’s your IT department. Hackers have exploited a weakness in your security and accessed company databases, stealing an unknown amount of confidential information. Included are employee salary information, product plans, and sensitive management e-mails. On YouTube, the mysterious group PrivSecRevenge has claimed responsibility for the intrusion. The group has posted thousands of confidential files on a public website and promises more are coming. They claim this is a reprisal for your company’s “reckless” behavior in handling the privacy of millions of customers’ information.
