David leads Brunswick’s Tokyo office. He advises Japanese companies as they navigate issues outside their home market including crisis, M&A, cyber, activism, ESG, and corporate governance.

David also works with international organisations seeking to either expand their footprint in Japan or to preserve their position in the Japanese market in the face of critical business challenges.

David is also the Asia Pacific Lead for the Financial Institutions Group, leading Brunswick’s work in Asia with banks, insurers, asset management and private equity firms, and other financial institutions.

The first Partner on the ground in Japan, David has been with Brunswick since 2011. He was originally based in Hong Kong where he founded the firm’s insight and research practice, Brunswick Insight, in Asia.

Before joining Brunswick, David worked in political polling in the United Kingdom and during this period advised both the Conservative Party and the Labour Party.
