Brunswick Group, the global advisory firm specializing in critical issues and corporate relations, today announced that Cara O’Brien has joined the firm as a Partner based in Hong Kong. Cara has extensive experience across M&A, financial, corporate and crisis communications. She joins Brunswick from a large communications agency where she was most recently Senior Managing Director and Head of Strategic Communications, Asia Business Operations, based in Hong Kong.
During a nearly two-decade career in New York and Hong Kong, Cara built a strong track record supporting clients on a range of critical situations in both the Americas and Asia Pacific regions. Prior to this, Cara worked at Credit Suisse where she spent six years serving as a portfolio manager in the bank’s Project Finance group.

About Cara O’Brien
Cara O’Brien is an experienced strategic communications advisor, with more than 20 years of experience in the communications and finance industries during time spent in Hong Kong and New York.
Cara started her career as an Associate at Credit Suisse where she spent six years serving as a portfolio manager in the bank’s Project Finance group. In 2000, she joined FTI Consulting in New York and during a nearly two-decade career with the firm held various management and leadership roles. Cara moved to Hong Kong in 2011 to help enhance FTI’s Asia business and most recently served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Strategic Communications Asia Business Operations, advising clients on critical communications issues including M&A transactions, IPOs, investor and media relations programs, reputation management campaigns and crisis communication strategies.
Cara received an M.A. from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and a holds a B.A. in International Relations from Lehigh University.
