Steve joined Brunswick in 2024. Previously Steve was Senior Partner at Slaughter & May from 2016 to April 2024. He had been with the firm since 1982, including in its New York office from 1989-90 and been a partner for 32 years since 1991, heading its Mergers and Acquisitions practice from 2001 to 2016.

Steve has acted for a number of listed companies including ARM, Aviva, Barratt Developments, Cadbury, Centrica, Diageo, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, British Airways/International Airlines Group, Reckitt Benckiser, Rolls-Royce, Shire and The Walt Disney Company.

He is the author of “Takeovers” (2006), “The Morning of Our Lives” (2017) and “Journey Without Maps” (2023). He has also composed and performed music for over 60 films and series including “The Queen’s Green Planet”, “Land of Hope and Glory” and “Chosen”.

Steve is a non-executive director of Young & Co’s Brewery Plc and will become Chair of the company in July 2024.
